What is so special about GRP/FRP?

GRP/FRP is a composite material made of a polymer matrix reinforced with fibre. Fiberglass is increasingly being considered as an enhancement to and/or substitute for architecture components or systems that are constructed of traditional civil engineering materials – wood, concrete and steel.

With the worldwide acceptance and growing demand, Fiberglass products can be found in every aspect of modern life and cater for a large number of applications – be it for aerospace, automotive, marine, or construction industries. Particularly in the construction industry, it has been widely used for architectural cladding, interior and exterior facades, ornaments and sculpture works due to its versatile and unique characteristics as well as superior advantages:-

Mouldable
Under the right conditions and with the aid of an expert team of GRP/FRP engineers, this material can be moulded into almost any shape and size to create architecture structures that are practical, fantastical and organic in form. It also allows further aesthetical enhancement.

Lightweight
GRP/FRP is lightweight and yet producing superior properties over conventional materials such as steel and concrete. The lightweight property allows reduction of costs on fabrication, transportation, installation and even the removal process.

Strength and Durability
GRP/FRP exhibits high specific strength and stiffness; it is high impact and corrosion resistance to any harsh weather condition. GRP/FRP is UV stabilised to prevent discolouration, it will not rot, rust or deteriorate over time. Different material combinations can be used to achieve the desired result such as fire and chemical resistance, salt water submergence, non-organic in form.

Visual Appeal
GRP/FRP can be made in any shape and size, any finishing and colours and any surface texture and coating.
